I’ve found that kids are much more receptive to using tools if they have had some part in making them. Enter these super easy DIY breathing sticks. All you need are pipe cleaners and beads. Seriously, that is it! Have the children twist the end of the pipe cleaner, so that the beads stay on. Add at least 6 beads and twist the other end. I made these last week with a Girl Scout troop and they made them into bracelets so they could wear them and have them on hand when needed. I love how creative kids are!!!
To use, just line up the beads on one side. Slowly move one bead down while inhaling through nose and then move next bead down while exhaling through nose. It is really that simple. And super effective. Slows down the breath while giving children something to focus on. Give these are try and let me know what you think! xo
